Lynell Chvala

Lynell Chvala is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Teacher Education and Development Studies at Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet). Her research interests address changes in English language teaching resulting from globalization and include publications and research collaborations on teacher professionalism and research literacy, English as a lingua franca (ELF) and ELF awareness, and the sociolinguistics of English and English education in local ecologies. She has been a teacher educator in the Department of Primary and Lower Secondary Education since 2006 and worked extensively with pre- and in-service teachers. In addition to teacher education, she has taught English studies and English for specific purposes (ESP) across contexts of higher education and private industry in the US, Norway, Sweden, and China.
